Every great and deep difficulty bears in itself its own solution. It forces us to change our thinking in order to find it.

- Niels Bohr

What is Permaculture?

Permaculture, (the word coined by Bill Mollison & David Holmgren in the seventies, a combination of permanent agriculture and permanent culture) is the conscious design and maintenance of productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability,

and resilience of natural ecosystems.

It is the harmonious and symbiotic integration of people and their surrounding nature - providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. A multidisciplinary toolbox including agriculture, water harvesting and hydrology, energy, natural building, forestry, waste management, animal systems, aquaculture, appropriate technology, economics and community development.

At the basis of permaculture is a beneficial design which often concentrates on

already settled areas and agricultural lands. Almost all of these need drastic

rehabilitation and re-thinking.

-“The philosophy behind permaculture is one of working with, rather than against, nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless action; of looking at systems in all their functions, rather than asking only one yield of them; and allowing systems to demonstrate

their own evolutions”. - Bill Mollison

Although Permaculture has laid the foundation for my training, I believe that drawing knowledge and experience from all sorts of regenerative practices and combining them is what gives us the right set of tools to overcome all challenges. With joined efforts, we can become proud "Tribes of tomorrow" with hope for an abundant future.

It’s possible to rehabilitate

large-scale damaged ecosystems,

so why don't we?
